Timbertrack
Abstract:
Timbertrack project - An innovative labeling system for tracking wood from the forest to the industry.
Timbertrack intends to design and develop a labeling system that uniquely identifies wood as a raw material, allowing the value of the entire set of data generated throughout the supply chain by all the machinery involved in it. This has been the object of interest and study by different groups worldwide such as LINESET or UNDISPUTABLE KEY, large-scale European projects that have been developed in recent years.
The labeling / marking of raw wood will make it possible to control its traceability, as well as its integration into advanced data systems. With this tool, forest certification will be much more accessible both for forest owners and for first and second transformation forest industries.
This project has the support of the European Association for Innovation in terms of agricultural productivity and sustainability (AEI-AGRI) and funding within the framework of the National Rural Development Program 2014-2020 by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD ) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment of Spain
