Abstract:
PLASMA - DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATING PLATFORMS FOR THE SMART FACTORY (IMDE40/2018/4)
The project consists of the design, development and application of demonstration cells of some of the technologies integrated in the Industry 4.0 standard model, which can be adopted in the short and medium term by industrial companies in the Wood-Furniture and Metalworking sectors after the timely feasibility analysis individualized to each company. An additional objective is to bring Industry 4.0 closer to companies in the indicated sectors, so that they can experiment and test with concrete examples some of the most relevant enabling technologies at the sector level, and their possibilities for mutual collaboration and connectivity.
Specific objectives include the following:
1- The design and development of two demonstration cells of the "connect and work" type (P&P), which can be assembled directly at the facilities of the interested companies, so that they can assess first-hand the proven technology and, after a specific demonstration period (about four weeks), they can observe the results achieved and assess the feasibility of its final implementation.
- Real-time process monitoring.
- Automation of operations.
2- The design and development of an Intelligent Manufacturing Platform, that is, a demonstration and experimentation environment aimed at industrial companies and technology providers, in which it will be possible to evaluate and interact with existing technologies framed in Industry 4.0, as well as with technologies that are in an advanced stage of development (TRL7-TRL8).
3- Carrying out demonstration pilots at the facilities of collaborating companies during the project execution period, and the corresponding feasibility studies, using the P&P cells and the technologies associated with them.
4- Carrying out at least 3 group demonstrations and 4 individual demonstrations in the Smart Manufacturing Platform, with interested companies that already collaborate or that may collaborate in the future, as well as carry out the appropriate feasibility studies.
